WHAT ARE BEAR SIGNALS?
These are stocks showing signs of structural weakness — not just a bad day, but real reasons to expect further decline. The scanner looks for: price breaking below the 50 or 200-day moving average, heavy selling volume on down days (distribution), declining revenue, earnings misses, high beta in a falling market, and analyst sell ratings.
Important: A bear signal win means the price fell after detection — the opposite of normal signals. In a bull market you'll see fewer signals and lower hit rate — that's correct, most stocks rise with the tide. In a bear or neutral market these become your primary alerts. The P/C ratio shown may be bullish even on bear candidates — that divergence (options traders still bullish while price deteriorates) often means the market hasn't priced in the weakness yet, making the setup more compelling, not less.
